Golden, Colorado, USA, May 18, 2018 ─ CoorsTek, the world’s leading technical ceramics manufacturer, will present two new industrial ceramics membrane filter technologies at the ACHEMA 2018 exhibition on June 11-15 in Frankfurt, Germany, Hall 6, Booth D12. CoorsTek has designed new membrane filter technologies specifically for the micro- and ultrafiltration of molecules and particles from aqueous solutions.

"Our latest membrane filter developments will help our customers filter fluids or gases with a technology requiring less maintenance, while offering higher reliability and longer service time," said Andreas Schneider, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Europe. "Ceramic membranes are increasingly used to improve filtration performance, throughput, and operational cost in a broad range of industries such as biotechnology and pharmaceutical, dairy, food and beverage, as well as automotive, chemical, and petrochemical industries.”

At ACHEMA, CoorsTek will highlight two new ceramic membrane filter technologies:

  • Multi-tube System

The multi-tube system consists of four single ceramic tubes connected together into a single ceramic part. Every tube performs the same way—ensuring more efficient filtering of the liquids. The cleaning of the filter, as well as the quality control of the tubes is easier. This technology is especially suitable for high quality filtering needed in specific applications such as pharmaceutical products.

  • Hollow Fiber System

The hollow fiber system consists of ceramic tubes assembled into a high-density module. The compact tube module size reduces the footprint of the filtering unit. Ceramic tubes offer superior temperature and chemical resistance compared to polymer tubes and delivering longer useful service life through harsh production or cleaning conditions.

CoorsTek has leveraged its expertise in the design and production of ceramic membranes to develop several porous ceramic tubular systems used in a wide array of industries. The CoorsTek technology team in Uden, Netherlands, collaborates with customers in Europe and worldwide to engineer application-specific solutions —taking into account geometry, pore size, and production parameters such as flux, temperature, and cleaning processes.
