CoorsTek Supports Colorado School of Mines Undergraduate Research Symposium
Golden, Colorado, USA, April 28, 2019 ─ CoorsTek, a leading global manufacturer of technical ceramics, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 2019 Colorado School of Mines Undergraduate Research Symposium. The symposium was held on Friday April 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the CoorsTek Center for Applied Science and Engineering building on the Mines’ campus.
The Symposium was launched in 2018 to kick-start a broader university effort to raise the profile of undergraduate research and create new avenues and opportunities for students to share progress and results for work they are doing. Over 100 students from all disciplines at Mines are expected to present their research projects at the symposium.
“We applaud the School of Mines on their investment in undergraduate research,” said Randel Mercer, Chief Technology Officer for CoorsTek. “As a science and technology company, we fully support their efforts to establish best practices in research that drive innovation and collaboration.”
CoorsTek and Colorado School of Mines Legacy Partnership
CoorsTek and the Colorado School of Mines have been working together for decades to advance engineered ceramics and support educational efforts for this discipline. In 2014, CoorsTek and the Coors Family announced a $27 million commitment to the school to fund the CoorsTek Center for Applied Science and Engineering, an interdisciplinary academic and research facility on the Mines campus. This investment is the most significant contribution to the multi-generational partnership between CoorsTek and the university, focused on solving global challenges through innovation and shared expertise.
