Our Commitment to the Environment
Our commitment to environmental sustainability is centered around reducing our ecological footprint wherever possible while delivering products that make the world measurably better. We recognize the energy and resource intensity of our business and take our responsibility seriously to conserve and minimize our impact on the environment and the communities in which we live, serve, and work.
We operate in a manner that protects and restores the global environment, as well as natural resources and human health through the products we deliver. We aim to preserve scarce raw materials, reduce energy and water consumption, improve waste streams, and limit carbon emissions from our building operations, manufacturing processes, and supply chain.
Environmental sustainability at CoorsTek revolves around five environmental focus areas:
- Facilities and Innovation
- Manufacturing Efficiency
- Materials
- Supply Chain
- Waste & Recycling
Efforts to minimize our environmental impacts within these key categories include waste and pollutant reduction, product scrap reduction, recycling optimization, increased energy efficiency, sustainable design, responsible environmental practices, green procurement, and using alternate energy sources and eco-friendly materials. Lastly, we seek to meet or exceed environmental regulations, and encourage business and stakeholder partnerships to advance sustainability as part of our culture and throughout our value chain.
OUR 2030 CLIMATE VISION
CoorsTek has taken a data driven, analytical approach to developing company-wide climate goals combined with the
understanding that corporations need to take aggressive action to reverse and limit negative environmental impacts. We
recognize our duty to employees, communities, customers, regulators, and partners to take steps to reduce our footprint so
that future generations can thrive. Our 2030 climate goals are as follows:
- 60% waste diversion target
- 42% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions1,2
- 20% reduction in water usage1
- 50% renewable energy target
Our climate goals serve as a major signal to our global workforce to prioritize sustainability in how we make decisions and do
business. In evaluating our data and baseline information, it’s clear that reducing our waste, minimizing our contribution to
global emissions, and limiting our water consumption must be prioritized in our near and long-term endeavors.
