Hot Pressed Silicon Carbide
Composition
SiC
hot pressed silicon carbide overview
Hot pressing, also called pressure assisted densification, a ceramic significantly decreases the defects in the grain structure. This gives hot pressed silicon carbide an extremely hard surface and high-strength which is utilized in ballistic armor.
Example Applications
- Ballistic armor
- Etch rings
