IDG’s CIO 100 award recognizes enterprise excellence and innovation in IT
Golden, CO — IDG’s CIO has named CoorsTek as a 2021 CIO 100 award winner. For more than 30 years, the CIO 100 awards have recognized innovative organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of strategic and operational excellence in IT.
“This year’s CIO 100 class demonstrates an amazing array of initiatives. Many helped their organizations thrive during the dark days of the coronavirus pandemic, whether by directly addressing new realities in health care or business or expediting digital adoption to adapt,” said Anne McCrory, Group VP, Customer Experience & Operations, IDG Communications, Inc. “We are honored to showcase these achievements and the spirit behind them at this year’s virtual CIO 100 Symposium & Awards in August.”
“This award reinforces our strategy of modernizing our operations using real-time machine data to generate actionable insights that improve productivity and quality in our plants,” said Matt Mehlbrech, VP of Information Technology for CoorsTek. “We are still on our model plant journey, but the expansion of data collection and machine-learning use cases will deliver even higher value to our customers.”
CoorsTek is capitalizing on advancements in IoT (internet of things) connectivity to provide automatic alerts and data visualizations that predict equipment failures and product quality issues. In under 18 months, over 300 pieces of production machinery have been connected to provide data for analysis and machine learning. Insights from these connected machines have led to measurable reductions in scrap, avoidance of quality returns and improvements in on-time delivery, where deployed.
Executives from the winning companies will be recognized virtually at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards.
