COORSTEK GMBH CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF MANUFACTURING EXPERTISE IN LAUF AN DER PEGNITZ

Lauf, Germany – CoorsTek GmbH in Lauf an der Pegnitz is celebrating its 100th anniversary of producing technical ceramics at its local manufacturing facility this year. The 100-year-old company is headquartered in Colorado, U.S. but has a long history in the middle Franconia region in the north of Bavaria.

“We are extremely proud of our 100th anniversary milestone and of our long heritage of doing business in this region,” said Andreas Schneider, executive vice president of CoorsTek Europe. “Over the past 100 years we have provided innovative and reliable solutions to key industries including automotive, electronics and energy.  Our commitment to strong relationships has been a constant for us and we continue to focus on delivering success for our customers and for CoorsTek.”

CoorsTek GmbH started as a family business that was established in 1922, founded by Albert Buettner, the owner of Bayerische Elektrozubehör. The company remained with the Stettner family until 1988 when it was sold to Saint-Gobain into its High Performance Materials business when advanced ceramics manufacturing started to gain momentum. The Lauf facility was acquired by CoorsTek in 2010 and in 2012 CoorsTek acquired ANCeram in Bindlach to form the Franconia manufacturing complex.

“The dedication of our Lauf employees has been the foundation of our success over the past 100 years,” said Ines Worschischek, plant manager for the Lauf manufacturing facility. “We appreciate and respect the value that our employees bring to CoorsTek every single day. Their hard work, determination and commitment to our core values is what I am most proud of.”
