CoorsTek Names David Lee as Global Vice President for Semiconductor Market

Semiconductor industry veteran joins CoorsTek as the importance of technical ceramics in scaling semiconductor processes becomes more critical

Golden, Colo. – CoorsTek, Inc., the world’s leader in engineered ceramics, today announced that David Lee has joined the company as global vice president – commercial for the global semiconductor business, a group dedicated to developing products for whole-cycle semiconductor manufacturing. David joins CoorsTek from Applied Materials, a global leader in engineering solutions, where he most recently served as the managing director of global business development for service and spares.

With more than 20 years of experience, David has led a variety of semiconductor product, technology, and commercial teams. In his new role, he will be responsible for growing existing and identifying new CoorsTek partnerships. He will provide leadership and vertical expertise to unite commercial efforts across outside and inside sales, sales operations, marketing, and pricing functions.

David joins CoorsTek as it continues to look for opportunities to strengthen its advanced ceramic capabilities and grow the semiconductor business globally. In 2014, CoorsTek acquired Covalent Materials, formerly Toshiba Ceramics, including its R&D and operations in Japan. In 2016, the company added Philips Ceramics, with operations and development in Uden, The Netherlands.

He began his career as an aerospace engineer and captain in the U.S. Air Force before joining Applied Materials in 1995 as a senior plasma etch engineer. He received his bachelor’s degree in engineering science from the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds a master’s degree in engineering mechanics from Columbia University. David will be based in the Fremont, Calif., office.
