CoorsTek Introduces Two New Bearing Balls at Hannover Messe 2019

CoorsTek Cerbec® bearing balls portfolio introduces two new grades Silicon nitride Cerbec® bearing elements are especially valuable in applications where steel balls degrade rapidly or where electrical insulation is a necessity. CoorsTek Cerbec® balls are manufactured from high-quality silicon nitride and are 58% lighter than steel alloys. The lighter weight lowers centrifugal force, reduces gyroscopic weight, causes less friction, and minimizes ball skidding. CoorsTek completes its silicon nitride bearing balls portfolio by adding the following additional grades:
SN102 meets the requirements of ASTM F2094 Class I and is especially suitable for high-contact stress applications such as machine tool and aerospace applications;
SN103 is suitable for medium contact stress applications such as electric motors, generators, and e-mobility applications. SN103 meets the requirements of ASTM F2094 Class II.
NBD200, that is especially suitable for small size bearing balls of 3.175 mm diameter and smaller, such as dental drills.
SN101C, that is typically used for applications where bearing balls greater than 3.175 mm diameter are required. Applications include bearing balls for wind energy technology.
