Zirconias overview

Family Overview

Zirconias have a unique crystal structure that makes them extremely tough. CoorsTek engineered formulations let the zirconia grains swell when a micro-crack is formed — preventing further crack growth and arresting brittle failure. 

By adding toughness to the other material properties of ceramics, CoorsTek zirconias are ideal for extreme environments, particularly impact prone applications. Additionally, certain zirconia compositions are able to resist fatigue loading.
